What Guides Our Work
Mission
American Denturist College advances the art and science of denturist education through online programs that prepare future denturists with the academic knowledge, clinical expertise, and professional integrity to excel in practice.
Vision
American Denturist College’s goal is to be a learning-centered organization that promotes student success. We aspire to become a leading provider of denturist education, recognized for our leadership in the field and known for excellence in teaching, learning, and producing exceptional career-ready graduates.
Our History
The denturist profession began in the United States in 1978, when Oregon voters approved licensure for this field. As the need for skilled denturists grew—particularly across the Pacific Northwest—Todd and Brad Young founded American Denturist College in 2011 to expand educational access for individuals interested in dental prosthetics. Supported by the Higher Education Coordinating Commission and the Oregon Health Licensing Agency, the College was created to offer high-quality, accessible training for future denturists.
The College launched its first Denturist Diploma Program in 2013 and continued strengthening its curriculum, student support services, and clinical expectations as the profession evolved. In 2018, ADC achieved initial accreditation through the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), reflecting its commitment to quality, accountability, and strong outcomes in distance learning. Accreditation assures students that ADC meets nationally recognized standards of educational quality and institutional integrity.
In 2020, the College introduced the first Technical Bachelor’s Degree in Denturism in the United States. This stackable credential allows graduates of the Diploma program—or an equivalent approved program—to continue their studies and complete advanced coursework toward a bachelor’s degree.
ADC remains dedicated to preparing graduates to serve their communities with skill, professionalism, and patient-centered care.
